The African Wild Dog, also known as the Cape hunting dog, utterly wild and is the single species in its genus. It belongs to the family Canidae, the dog family, and thus is a distant cousin of the domestic dog. They are becoming scarcer and scarcer, and they could eventually become extinct.

All Wild Dogs are unique in coloring and spots, no one dog is alike in markings.
